It is only by risking ourselves from one hour to another that we live at all. And often enough our faith beforehand in an uncertified result is the only thing that makes the result come true. William James, Is Life Worth Living? |
When life generates turbulence, it evokes all kinds of uncomfortable emotions. It can be difficult to contain feelings and make sense of what’s happening. Our sense of who we are and connection with those around us may seem fragile or even fractured. This process of breakdown and recovery often requires self-reflection. Psychotherapy offers the space needed for such healing and growth.
Some of us come to therapy to deal with an immediate problem. Others want to examine longer term patterns and find meaningful change. In order to move beyond who we’ve been, we usually require a new understanding and a faith that we can and will heal if we work at it in healthy ways in the right setting. Therapy allows experience to build and feelings to evolve so that we recover our trust, courage, and clarity and become ready again for whatever life brings. |
