Ring the bells that still can ring. Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in. -- Leonard Cohen
I am a licensed professional counselor in private practice in
Carrollton, Georgia. I practice psychoanalytic psychotherapy, and I consider
myself a seasoned clinician. I have faith in the therapeutic project because I
have experienced it myself. The creative effort to pursue the truth of our lived
experience has intrinsic healing value. It is difficult for most of us,
however, to change emotional and relational patterns on our own.
To begin, we’ll focus on establishing the relational trust, emotional safety,
and psychological freedom required for healing and growth. I’ll listen for the
practical problems that might need sorting through as well as the more
longstanding issues that seem to be in your way. When you arrive for a session,
you can expect a compassionate, warm, thought-provoking, and intelligent
conversation. We’ll find our way into questions that speak to the heart of your
dilemma and access the reservoir of your creativity and potential.
Very often, the kind of change you originally envision is not the kind
that occurs, mostly because what does occur is something beyond your initial
imagination. Facilitating personal transformation is something I have explored
as a chaplain, meditation teacher, and yoga instructor. This background training
enables me to integrate spiritual exploration and mindfulness practice with
psychotherapy to help you move toward a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
